August Featured Caregiver


Meet our featured caregiver for the month of August… Cynthia V.!

Cynthia is originally from L’Ase Michigan but currently resides in Felch with her family. She has two sons, Dylan, 31, Dusty, 28…two granddaughters Valerie and Cynthia, both are six years old, and her loving husband Brian. Outside of work she enjoys hiking, fishing, boating, cooking, baking, and spending as much time with family as possible.

Cynthia said her favorite part of being a caregiver is “…walking into client’s homes and putting a big smile on their face. Knowing I’m able to help them and being a big part of their lives when family isn’t or able to be around.” Her advice for other caregivers is “…If time permits on shifts always try to go the extra mile for your client.”  When we asked her what caregiving means to her, she said “…If they want a favorite snack/dessert made, fill bird feeders, etc… whatever we can do to put a smile on their face and make them feel good, sometimes we’re all they have.” When asked what her favorite memory with a client is, she said “…Just being a big part of my client’s life as sometimes I am all that my clients have.”

Cynthia’s favorite types of music are classic rock and country, and her favorite type of tv shows are classic sitcoms. A fun fact about her is that she loves chasing waterfalls and sightseeing. We’re so thankful for the loving and kind caregivers that are apart of our company, we couldn’t serve our clients without them!

July Featured Caregiver


Meet our featured caregiver for the month of July, Melissa!

Melissa is originally from Iron River and still resides in the area with her family. She spends most of her time with her loving husband Russ, son Derek, and two stepchildren Aaron and Amber. Outside of work you can usually find Melissa fishing at the lake, swimming, and going to rummage sales.

When we asked Melissa her favorite part of being a caregiver, she said “…companionship.” Her advice for fellow caregivers is “…be nice…be dependable.” When we asked her what caregiving means to her, she said “…caring for someone in need.” Her favorite memories with clients consist of all the times where she just gets to sit around and talk with them.

Melissa’s favorite type of music is Country, and her favorite TV show is Impractical Jokers. A random fun fact about her is that she loves to go shopping.

We’re so thankful for the loving and dependable caregivers on our staff like Melissa, they take the absolute best care of our clients!

June Featured Caregiver


Meet our Spotlight Employee for the month of June Torrey.

Torrey is originally from Newberry, but currently resides in Florence with her husband and their 12-year-old Blue Heeler, Kera. Torrey and her husband have been married for 23 years and they enjoy going to garage sales, reading, shopping, and relaxing with a good movie.

When we asked Torrey what her favorite part about being a caregiver is, she said “…you make an enormous difference in someone’s life, you get to be part of the family, you get to hear incredible stories.” Her advice to fellow caregivers is “…listen to what your clients have to say, treat them like you would like to be treated.” When asked what caregiving means to her, she said “…bringing joy to someone’s life, just letting someone know you care.” She said some of her favorite memories with clients are “…listening to their stories, looking through their pictures with them, or taking them shopping.”

Torrey’s favorite type of music is alternative rock, her favorite movie is Grease, and her favorite types of foods are tacos and pizza. She loves to travel…she’s fascinated with traveling because she gets to learn new things and she especially loves waterfalls.

We’re so thankful for the compassionate, kind, and loving caregivers on our staff like Torrey, they’re the heart and soul of our company. Keep up the great work!

April Featured Caregiver


Meet our featured caregiver for the month of April, Melanie!

Melanie is originally from Norway, Michigan but currently resides in Kingsford, Michigan. She has four sons, as well as some extra children she thinks of as her own that she’s picked up along the way. Outside of work she loves to go kayaking as well as listen to the Sisters at the convent sing, as well as watch her favorite movie, The Sound of Music. A fun fact about Melanie is that she was raised on a farm and knows how to milk and take care of all kinds of animals.

Melanie’s favorite part about being a caregiver is “…helping families keep loved ones at home. It’s a blessing to care for loved ones until their last breath.” Her advice for other caregivers is to “…let families do what they can…teach them…let them help.”

Loving and attentive caregivers like Melanie are what make our company so special. We’re so thankful to have such hard working individuals be apart of our team. Keep up the great work Melanie!

March Featured Caregiver


Meet our Featured Caregiver for the month of March…Donna!

Donna has been with the Arms of Angels family for 12 years. TWELVE YEARS! She is originally from Escanaba but currently resides in Quinnesec with her family. She loves spending her free time with her three children as well as spending time gardening.

Donna’s favorite part of being a caregiver is helping people and she loves that she gets to do that as a part of her job. Her advice for other caregivers is to be “patient and kind.” Quite simply, when asked what caregiver means to her, Donna said “…being there for my clients.” Her favorite memory with a client is one time when they went shopping!

Donna’s favorite food is chocolate, favorite type of music is Classic Rock, and her favorite types of movies are anything with Bruce Willis in them! One of the most important things to know about Donna is that she absolutely loves dogs!

We’re so thankful for the love and care that Donna provides to her clients on a daily basis. Keep up the great work Donna!

February Featured Caregiver


Meet our featured Caregiver for the month of February, Hedy!

Hedy has been with the Arms of Angels family for TEN years! One whole decade as a dedicated caregiver with our company. During that time, Hedy has touched and changed many lives! She is originally from Iron Mountain and still resides there with her family. She has three children, Jake, Jason, and Carrie. As well as six grandchildren and one great grandson. She also has two fur babies, Winter, and Odie.

Hedy’s favorite part about being a caregiver is helping others lead more fulfilling lives. Her advice for other caregivers is “…Be patient and compassionate. Always show dignity and respect towards your clients. Be friendly. Strike up conversations on topics they like.” When we asked her what caregiving means to her, she said “…helping others stay in their home as long as possible by providing excellent care…to provide a clean, healthy, and safe home. Always making sure their needs are being met and that they are always comfortable.” When we asked her what her favorite memory with a client was, she couldn’t pick just one, she said “…I have many favorite memories. Mostly I like knowing that most of my clients are very happy knowing that I am honest, dependable, and caring. Also, that I like a job well done and follow through to the end.”

Hedy says “…I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and going to our camp with my Cocker Spaniels Windsor and Odie in tow.” Her favorite food is homemade cheese ravioli topped with sauce containing local fresh Italian sausage. Her favorite type of music is “…hits from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.”

Hedy is such a loving asset to our company. We’re proud to send her and caregivers alike out to represent us so well. Great job Hedy!

January Featured Caregiver


Meet our featured caregiver for the month of January, Hazel K.

Hazel has been with the Arms of Angels family for eight years. She is originally from Wallace, Michigan and currently resides in Daggett, Michigan with her family. She loves to spend her time with her three children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Her favorite part about being a caregiver is simply getting to help people. Her advice to other caregivers is “…Help your client the best that you can. Sometimes you are the only one they see. Make sure they have everything that they need. If they need anything contact your Case Manager, they will be able to get things for them.” When asked what caregiving means to her, Hazel said “…I like helping people. It feels good to help them stay in their home. I only want the best for them.”

Hazel is such an integral part of our kind and caring staff, we’re so thankful for the way she loves our clients. Keep up the great work Hazel!
